NEW DELHI: 28th Oct, 2013: BSNL celebrated “Hindi Pakhvada Samapan Samaroh” and released in-house Journal “Sanchar Sarika-2013” with enthusiasm at BSNL corporate office New Delhi. In the program, Shri R.K.Upadhyay ,CMD BSNL distributed the prizes to winners of Hindi competitions and released in-house Journal “Sanchar Sarika-2013”. Renowned humorist Poet Shri Surinder Sharma and poet Mahindra Ajnabi entertained the people on this occasion.

BSNL has launched today “MY BSNL App” mobile based bill payment solution for its Landline mobile customers at Pune. The application is Android and will be made available for all BSNL Customers in India. BSNL also launched SMS based fault booking system for landline & broadband. Now customers book their fault by sending SMS on 54343. Shri R.K. Upadhyay, CMD BSNL was the Chief Guest for the function. Shri Naresh Kumar Gupta, Director (CFA) BSNL was Guest of Honour. Shri A.V. Kulkarni, CGM,Maharashtra & Goa was also present at the function.
BSNL has taken initiative to make mobile based payment services easily available to the masses. This service provides ease of making the payments at the convenience of the customer instead of approaching the manned customer service centers, we are approaching the door step of our esteemed customers.
This mobile application is developed in house by IT Project Circle (ITPC), Development unit at Hyderabad. With the customers having more orientation towards smart phones and tablet in their hand, the initiative taken by ITPC will benefit the customers, by offering Mobile Application towards a goal of bridging the gap between the customers and the organization.
MY BSNL App facilitates the customer to make payments anytime anywhere. The customer can download Mobile Application from the Android App Store (Google Store)/Windows App Store.
Features of Mobile Application:
1. Postpaid (Landline/GSM/CDMA/WIMAX):
• Check outstanding bill amount.
• Pay bills through selected payment option i.e. Credit/Debit/Cash cards/Net banking/Pay through IMPS.
• Get payment receipt to contact details mentioned in Profile
• A receipt for successful payment will be displayed on screen and a confirmation issued through SMS.

• Check the balance
• Top up any BSNL Mobile Number

GO-GREEN Initiative from BSNL:
We at BSNL, are responsible corporate citizens. We believe that every small “GREEN” step taken today would go a long way in bui9lding a greener future and that each one of us can work towards a better environment.
Under this initiative BSNL is encouraging its customers to “GO GREEN” by subscribing telephone bills on “Email”. This will reduce the consumption of paper in printing the telephone bills and delivery of bills on cost efficient automated channels basis thereby building awareness and consciousness of environment protection.
In lieu of the above, BSNL is granting 10 loyalty reward points to BSNL Landline/Broadband customers who opt for getting their bill through “Email Only” option. Scheme will be effective from 01-10-2013.
Advantage for customer: Immediate receipt of telephone bill through “EMAIL” .
Advantage for BSNL: Saving on account of printing/dispatching of bills and less compliant about non Receipt of telephone bills.
Advantage of society: Healthy and sustainable environment t by reducing paper usage and so avoiding damage to eco system.

September 2013:

New Delhi, 24th Sept 2013: BSNL and MTNL, the two public sector undertakings under the Ministry of Communication & IT have signed a MoU on 24th of September 2013. This strategic initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency and augment customer care. There are three pillars of this MOU, which takes care of Mobile Communications, Infrastructure Sharing and Enterprise Business. The customers will be most benefitted as it will reduce their total cost of ownership for all their IT and Telecom Services.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri R K Upadhyay CMD BSNL mentioned that Lots of BSNL Customers visit Delhi and Mumbai. We are going to provide now a very cost effective solutions for their pan India requirements. We are going to share the resources of each other, which will ultimately bring down the cost of operations.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri A K Garg CMD MTNL mentioned that through this MoU Enterprise Customers will be served well. We have put in place the backend structure and system to meet SLA in terms of Service Delivery and Service Assurance. He further mentioned that MTNL, a 100% owned subsidiary of MTNL is being developed as Network and System Integrator for providing total telecom and IT solutions to enterprise Customers. Particularly SMB customers will be served through Managed Services.
CMD BSNL mentioned that the present synergy broadly covers three main areas, which will benefit the customer most. These are Seamless Mobile Services, Infrastructure Sharing, and Enterprise Business.  
Both will use the infrastructure of each others like ducts, Buildings, towers, ILD platforms, Intelligent Network Services, Toll Free Services etc. A well articulated settlement plan has been worked out between the two companies. This will help BSNL and MTNL to concentrate more on improving customer services. Seamless Mobile services with customized pan India plans will be offered. The Basic Idea is to let customer feel both networks as a Single Network and need not bother for anything. 
Both CMD mentioned that “Enterprise Business” is one area, where we are expecting to consolidate much of our strength. We will be signing SLA and are committed to provide the agreed Service Delivery and Service Assurance.CMD MTNL mentioned that an Enterprise Vertical on the similar pattern of BSNL has been created in MTNL on the philosophy of Customer Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning.   This will help us to design and provide customized services as per their need.  
Both CMD BSNL and MTNL categorically mentioned that “We reassure our customers that we are fully committed to provide pan-India services at most economical rates in a very transparent manner.”


June 2013:

New Delhi, 28th June 2013: The state owned Telecom PSU, BSNL has announced today to contribute 18 cr Rupees (one day’s salary of all its employees) in Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) as a relief to victims of natural disaster in Uttrakhand. The contribution of over 2.5 lack employees of the BSNL will be very helpful for the victims of recent cloud burst and flood.
BSNL has already initiated a service to locate missing/stranded people in Uttrakhand natural disaster. For availing this facility any mobile customers has to dial 1503 (for UTKD subs.) or +919412024365 between 8:00 and 21:00 hours and indicate the BSNL mobile no. of missing person. The last known location of the missing/stranded person will be provided to calling customer through SMS. BSNL has also provided free communication services at all major relief centers. These services are currently operational at Badrinath, Joshimath, Gaurikund, Gochar, Bakot, Uttarkashi, New Tehri, Dharchula and helipads of Jollygrant and Sahstradhara.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India's leading telecommunication services provider has launched Loyalty Scheme for rewarding its Landline/Broadband customers with effect from the month of April’13.
BSNL’s Loyalty Scheme is an innovative reward program and has been launched for the first time by any Telecom Service Provider in India.  BSNL’s Landline and Broadband customers shall start accumulating loyalty points when they uses BSNL Land line and Broadband services above a certain level in a month. These reward points earned can be redeemed in terms as Free Metered Call Units (MCUs) for making free call on BSNL “On Net” calls.
Individual BSNL customers who are availing landline and broadband service are eligible to earn reward points. Individual Customers whose monthly bill amount is  Rs. 400 and above or Bi-Monthly amount is above Rs.800 and above shall be earning loyalty reward point for every Rs.50 for invoice paid within pay-by-date. 
Customer can redeem Loyalty points initially after 6 months from the date of earning loyalty point first time.  Redemption will be in terms of Free Meter call units MCU (i.e. one point is equivalent to one free MCU) which will be adjusted for calls made by customers on BSNL network (On-net calls) only. This Redemption can be done in block of minimum 25 points and maximum 500 points (multiple of 25 points).
Customer can log on to web-site for online redemption of loyalty points on basis through www.bsnl.co.in >customer care > and place a request. Customer can approach Customer Service Center and give redemption request. Customer can also approach BSNL Call Center by dialing 1500 and give redemption request.
This loyalty scheme shall however not be available to certain category of customer who are availing concessions/ discount in some other form PRI/Franchisee/EPBX/ PCO/VPT/CSC/serving/retired employee of central Govt/ state Govt PSUs etc. entitled for 20% discount on FMC/usage under broadband plan,  Annual, Bi-annual and Tri-annual Customers.
Commenting on the launch of Loyalty scheme, Shri R.K. Upadhyay, Chairman &Managing Director, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited said, BSNL has taken a lead in India by launching the loyalty scheme. Hon'ble Minister of Communications and Information Technology Sh. Kapil Sibal launched BSNL Video Telephony Service in Southern India.  


New Delhi, BSNL today launched Video Telephony Service in Southern states of India. BSNL is the first Telecom Service Provider in the country to offer such high quality Video calling service. State owned enterprise ITI is the franchisee for this service for South & East zones and Mumbai based ICT solutions provider M/s Click Telecom is the Technology partner of M/s ITI for this Next generation Video calling service. This service will be made available to BSNL customers in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala & Tamil Nadu on  BSNL wireline broadband connections. Shortly this will be made available in circles of East zone also where work is in advance stage.  


While inaugurating the service, Shri Kapil Sibal  said “I am proud to announce launch of this futuristic  Video calling service. Any BSNL broadband customer will now be able to make high quality Video call through BSNL’s landline or Fiber network. Video conferencing which was so far a very costly affair and restricted to board rooms will now be easily available to business and Government offices. BSNL shall provide special PVC (Private virtual circuit) on broadband connection through which traffic of Video calls will flow. This will ensure consistent quality of service due to BSNL’s robust MPLS-VPN network.”


Shri R K Upadhyay , highlighted the futuristic features of this service that will work on BSNL broadband. He also highlighted how this network will help improve rural-urban synergy and development in the state including services like Telemedicine and Tele-education initiatives.


Shri Upadhyay said “with the launch of Video Telephony, organizations can have instant face-to-face meetings, sales reviews, training sessions at 25% of the current cost. Apart from desk-to-desk calling, these Video Phones can also be connected to large screens like TV/Projector for superior experience.  This service saves time and cost, and improves productivity.  He also mentioned that   Video Phones will work simultaneously with landline and  broadband.  


This service will be available to only those users who are having BSNL broadband. Using this service, video calls can be made within India only.


Video call charges within BSNL Video Calling network are just Rs. 2.50 per minute. Video call traffic will not add to the broadband usage limits of the Broadband tariff plan of customer.

Hon’s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s e e e e e e e e e e e e e ble Minister of Communications and Information Technology Sh. Kapil Sibal launched “   Mobile Money Transfer” service of   India Post  between Delhi and Kerala. Department of Posts (DoP) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) have joined hands to launch this service.

 

This service enables immediate ‘   money transfer’ from one person to another through Post offices using mobile phones. The Postal assistants use the mobile phone and technology provided by BSNL. The sender and recipient customers can have mobile number of any Telecom operator.

 

At Present, this service is enabled at 18 Post offices each at Delhi, Kerala, Punjab and Bihar Postal Circles which cover 12 cities in Punjab, 14 in Kerala, Delhi and 15 cities in Bihar.

 

In this service, money is accepted (Cash-in) from sender customers by Post office assistant (POA) at originating Post office & the money is sent to the recipient’s mobile number by the Postal Assistant. The sender customer and recipient customer immediately get SMS of ‘ money transfer’ on their mobile phone. The sender customer also gets a secret code on his/her mobile for this transaction, which he/she has to inform to the recipient customer. With the transaction-id and secret code the recipient customer can immediately walk in the nearest Post office, enabled for this service and can claim money.

 

For Cash-out, the destination Post office assistant takes the transaction-id and secret code from the customer and verifies the authenticity with the central server using BSNL given mobile phone. If transaction is authenticated to be OK by the central server, he/she hands over the money to the recipient customer.

 

While Launching the service, MOC&IT said, "India is among the few leading nations, where tele-density has increased at a very fast pace. Mobile Money transfer service is first of its kind in India and targets largely the migrant people, who are working away from their families. It enables   instant transfer of Money  on the mobile number through SMS. Also, this service synergises large number of Points of Presence (POPs) of DoP and vast spread of mobile network of BSNL to serve the common man."

 

Secretary DoP said: The Service would be instantaneous in nature and customers not having facility of electronic money transfer would definitely like to use this facility. The DoP has kept the service tariff competitive. The service shall be initially available in Delhi, Kerala, Bihar and Punjab Circles and will be expanded to other Postal Circles in due course of time.

BSNL has started its journey on 1st October 2000 after getting converted into a PSU from Central Government operational Department called ‘Department of Telecom Services’.  We started with approximately 28 million telephones lines which were mainly fixed telephone lines.  During last 12 years, BSNL has introduced several new services in the country like Internet in the year 2000, 2G mobile in the year 2002, broadband services in the year 2005, 3G mobile services in the year 2010, enterprise services including managed services in the year 2010, Wi-max (4G) mobile broadband services in the year 2011 and the list continue to grow.  BSNL has won the confidence of their customers and established its name prominently in the telecom industry and have more than 125 million customer base as on date.  BSNL is proud market leader in fixed lines and broadband services.  BSNL is known for its transparent Operation and the Operator who cover the maximum geographical area in the country.  12 years journey was very eventful and satisfying.  We are grateful to over esteemed customers who stood with BSNL through thick and thin and helped BSNL to retain its status of second most trusted Operator in telecom industry since last 8 years.

i)    Extra Talk time:  

Promotional Offer of 20% extra usage on TopUp Vouchers of Rs. 200, Rs.500, Rs.1000 and Rs.6000 under prepaid GSM services for a period of 7 days w.e.f. 1St October 2012.

ii)    Discount on 3G Data Cards:

Promotional offer of 20% special discount on sale price of 7.2 Mbps data card during festival season w.e.f.1st October 2012. BSNL is already offering 20% discount on its 3.6Mbps data cards too.  

iii)    Promotional offer during festival season in 3G Data Services:

BSNL has reduced the 3G data rate in the best selling segment. BSNL shall offer 1250Mb of data at Rs. 225 and 2500Mb of data at Rs. 360. It has thus reduced prices of these vouchers up to 20%.  

iv)    3G Data Voucher for Youth---- “Yuva”:

Mr R.K Upadhyay CMD BSNL said “BSNL is the only Mobile operator in the country to offer a data plan meant exclusively for the youth and students of the country. BSNL is offering 1500MB of data at Rs. 120 and 7000 MB of data at Rs. 599 for the youth and students which has certain night usage stipulation. This scheme will be effective from 1st October 2012 and remain open for a period of 90 days from the data of launch of this scheme.  

v)    Promotional Offer for CDMA Services:  

BSNL has offered two plans for unlimited calls on local and STD to any network. It is hoped that the CDMA Customers of BSNL shall avail the same. BSNL is offering unlimited local calls to any network at Rs. 650 and unlimited STD calls to any network atRs.850.These are promotional offers for a period of 30 days.  

vi)    BSNL is offering free Value Added Services viz. Games of demand and music on demand with every broadband new connection for those who were gets themselves registered from 1st October 2012 to 31st December 2012.  Apart from this BSNL is also making security deposit on broadband modems and broadband connections free and will be deducted in three equal instalments instead of single payment at the time of registration.  BSNL is also happy to announce wavier of installation charges which is Rs. 250 for broadband connection registered till 31st December 2012 from 1st October 2012.  

 vii)    BSNL is happy to announce to provide 3.6 Mbs 3G Data Card at Rs. 500 for every new/existing broadband connection those who will make payment on annual basis and Rs. 800 for those customers who are making payment on monthly basis.  

viii)    Reverse Bundling arrangement with tablets: 

Mr. R K Upadhyay mentioned that “BSNL is happy to announce reverse bundling arrangement with M/s Fitech and M/s Terracom for its range of Tablets in addition to our existing arrangement with M/s Pantel. Thus BSNL shall be in a position to offer affordable Tablet Computers for the students and common man with a very attractive tariff package and free SIM”BSNL has offered an attractive scheme for the customers of Penta T-Pads. On purchase of Penta T-Pad 703C at Rs. 7499, the customer will get one BSNL data card free worth         Rs. 1600/- along with 3 months rental free (worth Rs. 1500) on the post paid plan of rental of Rs. 500/-. In this plan the customer will get 4GB of data free every month.

Besides several discounts and commercial schemes as above, BSNL is proud to announce a comprehensive range of cloud services through BSNL’s Internet Data Centres.  These services shall be available from November 2012 onwards.  The cloud service portfolio of BSNL would consist of advance compute services i.e. 

a)    Desktop as a service;

For the first time in the history of BSNL, BSNL is planning to announce loyalty programme for landline and broadband customers. We propose that redemption of points by the customers should be totally hassle-free. 

BSNL is planning to issue a single bill to corporate customers by electronic stapling bills. BSNL is also planning to provide the facility of post-paid bill payment through BSNL retailers to make bill payment more comfortable for every customer. This scheme is likely to be available from November 2012 onwards.
